Selection Scheme & Exam Pattern

  • Selection Process : Stage-I: Preliminary Examination (400 Marks)
  • Stage-II: Main Examination (600 Marks)
  • Stage-III: Personality Test / Interview (200 Marks).
  • Stage-I: Preliminary Exam (OMR Based | 400 Marks) :
    • Paper-I: General Studies: 100 Marks (2 Hours) – Common for all streams
    • Paper-II: Stream Specific (Geology / Geophysics / Chemistry): 300 Marks (2 Hours)
    • Negative Marking: 1/3rd (0.33) mark deduction for each wrong answer.
  • Stage-II: Main Exam (Descriptive | 600 Marks) : Consists of 3 conventional papers of 200 marks each (3 hours duration per paper) in English medium only.
  • Final Merit List : Prepared on the basis of aggregate marks scored across Stage-I (Prelims), Stage-II (Mains), and Stage-III (Personality Test).

How to Apply

  • Complete the Universal Registration Number (URN) and Common Application Form (CAF) modules if applying for the first time.
  • Capture the live photograph and upload scanned passport photograph and signature (signed three times with black ink).
